Centre of Excellence in Robotics Application (CERA)

Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at its meeting held on 2016‑08‑09 forthe establishment of Centre of Excellence in Robotics Application. With the establishment of the said Centre, it was expected to function as a technology transfer agency for the design, development and conduct of research with respect to robotic systems and vehicles for Government and industrial customers. Through the applications of this Centre, it is possible to provide services required by many local industries and to raise funds needed for the existence of the Institution. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries to establish the Centre of Excellence in Robotics Application as a limited company under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007 and maintenance of its activities, was approved by the Cabinet.
